Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
The DPU Dental Clinic in Krems has an operating theatre that is used for surgical measures, especially complex implantological treatment, bone augmentation, tooth extraction, wisdom tooth removal, root tip resection and cyst removal.
IMPLANTOLOGY – “The most popular method”
It is part of human biology that tooth loss due to disease and other circumstances occurs at an increased rate with advancing age. The resulting restrictions to smiling, speaking and chewing can be remedied by an implant restoration adapted to the patient’s individual conditions in the oral cavity, which also takes into account high aesthetic expectations.
Don’t worry! If any gaps between your teeth have not been closed for a long period of time or if you have put up with ill-fitting dentures for years, it often results in bone build-up and discomfort at various levels, but with the augmentation technique, bone atrophy can be compensated using the body’s own or synthetic, biocompatible material, and a combined fixed and/or removable denture even allows edentulous upper and/or lower jaws to be restored.
In the course of taking your medical history, our practitioners will also clarify your general state of health and take into account any existing concomitant diseases with regard to the planned implant treatment. Dental implantation is not ruled out by common diseases such as rheumatism, diabetes or periodontitis, provided that there is an individually adapted accompanying treatment concept (such as medication).
Implants are usually made of titanium or ceramic so they are biocompatible with the body and therefore ideal for use in the oral cavity. They replace the natural tooth root and are inserted into the jawbone. The adhesion of the implant to the bone (osseointegration) ensures it is very strong and is therefore a good replacement for the natural tooth in its most important functions of chewing, swallowing and speaking. The implant also provides a superstructure (implant crown) to support dentures.
